The Health Service Commission is responsible for Human Resources for Health in the Government of Uganda.

• Serves to Advise, H.E. The President on matters regarding Health Workers
• Recruitment of Health Workers in Regional Referral Hospitals and top Government Health Institutions
• Overseeing the recruitment of Health Workers in District and City Service Commission
• Appointment, confirmation, promotion, and review the terms and conditions of service, training and qualifications of health workers.
• Fostering professional and work ethics, and exercising disciplinary control over the health workers
• Presenting appraisals to Parliament on unique issues of the health workers
